Malky Mackay refuses to step down as Cardiff boss

22 December 2013 - 09:28

Despite having been told by the club's owner Vincent Tan that he must quit the club or be forced out of the door by Cardiff City's chairman, Malky Mackay has refused to hand in his resignation.

  • Chelsea want to sign Lyon star to replace Jadon Sancho
  • Arsenal want to bring Aymeric Laporte back to England

  • Mackay, who helped guide Cardiff City to an FA Cup final and promotion to the Premier League, has been told that he has no future at the Welsh club and a search has already begun to find his successor.

"I won't be walking away," Mackay told BT Sport. "That's the first thing. I'm proud to be the manager of Cardiff City."

"It's something you are going to have to ask other people. I'll just work hard with my group of players - as I have done for two and a half years - and that won't change."
