Al Ain striker Asamoah Gyan has been associated with a return to the Premier League in the upcoming transfer window, according to an unnamed Ghanaian newspaper.

  • The talented Ghanaian striker joined Sunderland from French Ligue 1 outfit Rennes in 2010 for a transfer fee of £13m, having had a fantastic display with his national side at the World Cup finals in South Africa the same year.

However, former manager Steve Bruce sent Gyan on loan to Al Ain in his second season, with reports suggesting that the Black Cats received a record loan fee of £6m for his services.

The latest report suggests that the talented striker could make a return to the Premier League during the New Year, with a host of Premier League clubs understood to be keeping an eye on the player.

Asamaoh Gyan has been in excellent form for Al Ain in the last few seasons, and became the first ever player to amass 70 goals in two-and-half seasons in the United Arab Emirates' top tier.
