Mark Hughes, the Stoke City manager, has contacted Hamburg regarding a potential transfer for defender Michael Mancienne. The former Chelsea player has fallen out of favour at the Bundesliga side.

Mark Hughes, the Stoke City manager, has contacted Hamburg regarding a potential transfer for defender Michael Mancienne. The former Chelsea player has fallen out of favour at the Bundesliga side.Mancienne has long been linked with a return to the Premier League and Stoke, having slumped to a 3-0 defeat Tottenham yesterday, are eager to bring in a new defender in January.The defender has now decided to make a transfer back to England in a deal worth approximately 2.5 million Euros.
