Manchester United full back Alexander Buttner has been told that he is free to leave Old Trafford and is reportedly nearing a transfer to Turkish giants Galatasaray. The Dutch defender is no longer needed at David Moyes' side.
Patrice Evra is currently the first choice full back at Old Trafford but there also remains some question marks over his long term future at Man Utd. Buttner has so far failed to dislodge the club captain from the first team and has now decided that the time is right to leave United.
Galatasaray have reportedly had a bid accepted for Buttner in the region of £3.8 million and the player will fly to Turkey for talks next week.
