Sunderland plan transfer move for Valmir Berisha

09 January 2014 - 02:46

The Black Cats are rumoured to have made a bid for Halmstads youngster Valmir Berisha. The 17-year-old is widely tipped to become the long term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Sweden's national team.

  • Chelsea winger ruled out of Newcastle game with injury
  • FA confirm one-game ban for Chelsea attacker
  • The player, born in Kosovo and then later moved to Sweden at the age of 3, is one of the hottest prospects in Scandinavia and Sunderland have deployed scouts to catch the player in action. Berisha, who has chosen to play for Sweden instead of Albania, has started to show the form in Sweden's top flight that he produced during last summer's Under 17 World Cup and thus sending several European club scouts into a stir with his glowing performances. <br />

Sunderland are confident that they can agree a deal for Valmir in the January transfer window and have already made an enquiry for the player.
