Norwich closing on Newcastle Winger

Premier League Side Norwich City are close to sealing the transfer of Newcastle Winger Jonas Gutierrez. The 30 year old played under Norwich manager Chris Hughton while he was in charge of the magpies.

The winger has been a bit part player for the North-East club this season and has only made two league appearances in a campaign where he has had injury and personal problems.<br />

Earlier Norwich city manager had this to say about any potential deal,<br />

&ldquo;All I can tell you is there is an interest in Jonas. He is someone I know very well from my time at Newcastle but at this moment there is nothing else to report on that. I can confirm an interest,&rdquo;<br />

Gutierrez has fallen down the pecking order after it emerged that the club will have to offer him a new deal should he reach a stipulated number of caps for Newcastle United.
