Chelsea have secured the services of Nemanja Matic from Benfica in a deal worth a reported £21m.
The 25-year-old returns to his former club for a second stint, having previously joined the Blues from MSK Kosice in 2009.
Matic failed in his first spell under former manager Carlo Ancelloti, and was subsquently sold to Benfica in a deal that brought Brazilian international David Luiz to the West London outfit in January 2011.
However, his performances with the Primeira Liga outfit have not gone unnoticed as he claimed the Player of the season award last season.
"I am very happy for this opportunity to be back at this club. I feel very good because of that and just want to say I will give my best to help the team and make the Chelsea fans happy," Matic said.
Matic made 95 appearances for Benfica in all competitions.
