Keeper Set for Schalke exit

16 January 2014 - 19:09

Schalke Keeper Timo Hilderbrand is set to leave the club in the summer. The contract of the 34 year old is up in the summer and will not be renewed.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd can finally sign Ederson for huge bargain fee
  • Hilderbrand has been a regular for the club and has made 20 appearances this season in all competitions.<br />

Speaking to club&rsquo;s official website general manager Horst Heldt said,<br />

"He has an important share in the successes of the past two-and-a-half years with third and fourth place in the Bundesliga, the first knockout round in the Champions League and reaching the quarter-finals of the Europa League,"<br />

"In addition, he has always identified with Schalke and this was made unequivocally clear.<br />

"Our task, however, is to mainly affect decisions for the future. I am quite sure that this will not change his impeccable commitment to Schalke 04."<br />

The former Germany international joined Schalke in 2011 from Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon.
