Chelsea target Zouma told to stay at St Etienne

17 January 2014 - 15:24

19-year-old defensive starlet Kurt Zouma has been told that he must stay put at St Etienne, despite constant rumours of a move to England with Chelsea. The centre back has been advised that his long term future should be at ASSE.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • St Etienne's manager wants his club to keep their best players and Zouma is amongst the stars linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 side. Chelsea have been strongly linked with a transfer move for the defender.

Christophe Galter said: "What is sure is that our season isn't finished, and as I don't wish it to be finished, we're going to keep our best players and even if there are some who go and knock on the board's door, I don't see why we'd let those players we wish to keep now leave.

"Because we were knocked out of the Coupe de France by Cannes? No. We're going to resist, the players are under contract and that's that."
