Crystal Palace step up Simon Makienok interest

20 January 2014 - 06:56

Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis has entered the race to sign highly rated Denmark international striker Simon Makienok. The Eagles have been linked with the 6 foot 7 striker for over a month but have yet to make a formal offer for the Brondby frontman.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • Makienok has an impressive goalscoring record at Brondby since his arrival there from Koge back in 2012 and now a move to the Premier League could be secured before the end of the January transfer window. Tony Pulis is impressed with the burly striker and believes he would be a great addition and add competition for places in the squad.<br />

Palace are currently relying on Marouane Chamakh as their first choice striker, but the long term plan is to add a new young forward to their squad in time for the second half of the Premier League season.
