Arsenal join race for Benfica star

Arsenal have reportedly joined the race to land the services of Benfica striker Rodrigo on loan during the winter transfer window.

  • The talented striker, who has also attracted interest from the likes of Valencia and Zenit St.Petersburg is believed to be keen on moving to a fresh challenge this month.

    According to O Jogo, The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is understood to be keen on easing the burden on French international Olivier Giroud, with back-up striker Nicklas Bendtner sidelined due to injury.

    The report also claims that Wenger would like to sign the Spaniard on a temporary basis until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent next summer.

    Rodrigo has scored 34 goals in 94 appearances for Benfica so far.
