AC Milan have completed the signing of Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien on a one-and-a-half year deal.

The Ghanaian international joined the Rossoneri on a free transfer, having failed to feature regularly for the Blues under manager Jose Mourinho in the first half of the season.



The 31-year-old underwent a medical with the former Italian champions over the weekend before agreeing terms over an 18-month contract.



Essien, who spent eight-and-a-half years with the West London club, is expected to be unveiled in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
