Qataris line up Serie A club

Cagliari owner Massimo Cellino is reportedly in talks with Qatar Sport Investments over a proposed takeover of the club worth 70-80 million Euros.

  • The Miami based businessman has been increasingly hinting at his discontent running the club and he has also been seen in negotiations for the takeover of English Championship club Leeds United.



    The club have had a stadium situation too which has seen the Sardinians play across a number of stadiums in last couple of years.



    L’Unione Sarda are reporting that talk are underway between Celino Qatar Sport Investments over a proposed takeover. It is also reported that negotiations are underway to buy out businessman’s shares for a fee between 70-80 million Euros.



    The next 48 hours are crucial to any deal and it is also understood that Cellino is looking to keep hold of a minority share and wants to remain as president.
