The Ox leads Arsenal to victory

02 February 2014 - 22:43

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored a brace on his first Premier League start in six months as the Gunners earned a crucial 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at the Emirates today.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The win lifts the Gunners back to the top of the table temporarily, with Manchester City facing off against Chelsea at the Etihad on Monday night.

The Gunners manager Arsene Wenger had failed to make any big signings during the recently concluded winter transfer window, and this had raised questions as to whether the North London outfit could stay afloat in the title chase.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was the answer on the day, as he scored an excellent opener in the 47th minute from a delightful assist by Santi Cazorla, followed by a magical touch leading to his second in the 72nd minute.

Arsenal lead the Premier League standings with 55 points.
