Albion release Swedish striker

03 February 2014 - 13:30

Premier League club West Bromwich Albion have announced that they have cancelled the contract of Swedish striker Markus Rosenberg. The 31 year old joined the Baggies in 2012 after leaving his Bundesliga club Werder Bremen.

  • Rosenberg though struggled in his time with the club and failed to find the back of the net in 33 appearances for the club, the last of which was against Manchester United in Albion’s 2-1 victory in September.

This is what the club’s official website said.

“Markus Rosenberg has had his Albion contract cancelled by mutual consent and is now a free agent,”

The striker who is now a free agent has been linked with a return to his previous club Malmo.
