Arsenal’s move for Draxler blocked by Bayern Munich

03 February 2014 - 22:54

According to former Premier League striker Jan Aage Fjortoft Arsenal’s move for talented Schalke midfielder was blocked by Bayern Munich. It was thought that the Gunners will snap up the 20 year old before Friday’s deadline but the Bundesliga club pulled the plug on any potential deal.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • The player himself was keen on a move to the Premier League.

It has now emerged that the North Londoners never had a chance to land Draxler after European Champions Bayern Munich intervened to take him during the summer.

Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt has himself admitted that the club rejected a bid whilst not identifying from whom. He only said that the bid came from a club to the north of us, which at least geographically rules out Arsenal.

The Gunners now have a tough fight on their hands to land the midfielder in the summer.
