Coates closing in on Nacional loan move

Liverpool flop close to Nacional loan switch

04 February 2014 - 14:57

Liverpool's out-of-favour defender Sebastian Coates is reportedly closing in on a temporary move to his hometown club Nacional before the Uruguayan transfer deadline.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • The transfer window closes in Uruguay on Tuesday night and Nacional are believed to be keen on re-signing their former star on a loan deal in order to help him to regain his fitness from a knee injury before the World Cup finals in Brazil during the summer.

"You always think positively, I think that's the most important thing. In my case, I keep myself going by focusing on getting back as quickly as I can, and with the national team, the World Cup is another goal to help me with my recovery," the 23-year-old said.

The talented centre-back has had an inconsistent spell dreaded with injuries since his move to Reds in the summer of 2011.
