Fulham are monitoring the status of Austrian international Christian Fuchs at Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04, with a view to a summer bid for the player.

The West London club who have their Premier League future hanging in the balance, are understood to be keen on signing a well reputed defender in the summer.



According to the Mirror, the Cottagers failed to acquire the services of the talented full-back on winter transfer deadline day, but are confident of making a renewed offer in the region of £2m for the Schalke 04 defender before the start of the next campaign.



Fuchs has been capped 57 times by the Austrian national side.
