Borussia Monchengladbach defender and captain Martin Stranzl has signed a new one year deal with the club. This means the 33 year will be staying at Borussia Park till the 2015 season.
The Austrian had initially planned to retire at the end of last season but was convinced to stay on. The player is happy at the club and says he will continue to play on as long wants him too.
This is what club’s director of sport Max Eberl said,
"Martin has been in our starting XI for 20 out of 21 competitive matches for us this season,"
"He's an important lead figure in our team and we're delighted that we will have him with us next year too."
Stranzl joined the club in 2011 from Spartak Moscow and recently made his 100th appearance for the club.
