Real Madrid will wait and monitor the fitness of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. The Spanish powerhouse have the first option on the Turkey born Germany international.
Madrid tried to sign Gundogan last summer too but Dortmund resisted the temptation and did not want to sell after being coerced into selling Mario Goetze.
The 23 year old has however been out since August with a back injury and the Los Blancos will monitor his fitness before taking up their option.
The midfielder joined Dortmund in 2011 from FC Nurnberg and has made 57 league appearances for the club.
Manchester United amongst other clubs are also tracking Gundogan.
