Manchester City central defender Joleon Lescott is set to become the next England international to plump for a move to the Turkish top flight as the burly defender will agree a free transfer to Besiktas. Lescott is set to agree the deal next week.
Many had expected Lescott to sign a fresh contract at City but it is understood that manager Manuel Pellegrini has told the former Everton man that he is free to leave the club. The Toffees, ironically, were amongst the teams all interested in Lescott but the player wanted to move abroad. With his contract set to expire on July 1st, Lescott will seek pastures new and put pen to paper on a Turkish deal.
