27 February 2014 - 14:34

AZ Alkmaar coach Dick Advocaat has come out and slammed KNVB calling them a bunch of amateurs.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • The comments of former national coach come in the light of his team playing five matches in two weeks heading into their semi final match against league leaders Ajax Amsterdam.

Ajax on the other hand will have a clear rest of 10 days should they get knocked out of the Europa league tie against Salzburg and Alkmaar progress against Slovan Liberec. The Lancers have also had their away trip to RKC Waalwijk postponed to April 3rd due to the nuclear summit in Hague.

This is what Advocaat told De Telegraaf,

"But the KNVB is sticking to the fact that the mandatory conditions of rest for three days in the current situation"

"But the semi-final against Ajax can from a sporting point of prime importance . If they do not understand in Zeist, are a bunch of amateurs.”

The Cheese farmers are trying to move their league match against PEC Zwolle to 3rd April so that the players can get more rest.
