Liverpool are reportedly interested in acquiring the signature of Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic during the summer transfer window, according to The Metro.
The Reds boss Brendan Rodgers considers the 19-year-old as one of the club's top targets for the summer, as he plans to strengthen the midfield department ahead of a probable return to Champions League football next season.
Kovacic has been rarely used by Nerazzurri manager Walter Mazzarri in recent weeks, and the Reds could take advantage of the situation by making a summer bid in the region of £8m for his services.
This is what Kovacic's agent Nikki Vuksan had to say about his client's lack of first-team action at the San Siro.
"Everybody is confused as to why Mateo is not playing," He said."Is there a row with Mazzarri? I can't say a lot, but he is not happy."
