Borussia Dortmund have admitted that they will try and activate Nuri Sahin's buy-out clause at the end of the season.
Sahin, rejoined BVB on loan following a torrid spell with Real Madrid during the 2012 summer transfer window, and the Bundesliga giants now intend to keep him in Germany beyond the current season,
Dortmund's chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed that the club had had talks with the Los Blancos representatives over a permanent transfer for the Turkish international.
"We informed the representatives from Madrid around the time of the Champions League quarter-final that we plan to make use of this option to sign him," he said.
Real Madrid are willing to part ways with the midfielder for a fee of around £5.7m.
