Pardew wants new signings

Newcastle manager Pardew quiet on transfer plans

12 April 2014 - 11:13

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has yet to decide his club's transfer plans in the summer. Chairman and owner Mike Ashley has put Pardew under enormous pressure to balance the books in the summer.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Having sold the likes of Yohan Cabaye to PSG in January, Newcastle's team has struggled in recent months and Pardew is hoping to bring in some new faces for next season's campaign.

With Shola Amoebi set to quit in the club on a free transfer, expect some major changes at the Toon Army come June.

"Without putting myself under enormous pressure, when one or two leave they have to be replaced," said a pensive Pardew.

“We still have to get one or two. In principle, what the statement was, was a statement of what we would ideally like.

“If you get into a position like we were last year, we got Remy and we were a strong team for the first half of the season.

“We lost Cabaye and we have almost lost Remy for the second half.”
