Sunderland boss quiet on summer transfer talk

13 April 2014 - 10:00

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet wants to focus on his club's opportunity to survive in the Premier League instead of talking about the Black Cats' plans to buy new players in the summer.

  • Chelsea quoted price to sign Igor Thiago
  • Chelsea make Joao Pedro transfer decision

  • The realistic Uruguayan knows that his team are heading into the Championship but some reporters have been asking him who he thinks he will sign in the summer months ahead.

“It’s too soon to be talking about that because nobody knows really,” Poyet told the Sunderland Echo.

“I’m surprised they’re talking about it so early, because the season isn’t finished.”

Sunderland are expected to sell the likes of Adam Johnson should they be relegated to the second flight.
