Manchester United are apparently monitoring the progress of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi, with a view to a club-record bid for his services this summer.
The talented Argentine international has been in top form for the Catalan outfit over the past few years, and has notched up an impressive tally of 39 goals in 42 appearances for Barca in spite of injuries this season.
