Nolan wants Anelka stay

27 November 2007 - 11:48

Kevin Nolan hopes that Nicolas Anelka will decide to stay at Bolton because Anelka "loves it" in Bolton. The ex-Arsenal striker has been linked with a string of clubs such as Valencia and Man Utd.

  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • "We don't want him to go," said Nolan. "Nic loves it here and maybe this is a club where he can settle.

"If we can keep him fit and he keeps scoring, then we can go up the table all that much quicker.

"We know everyone fancies Nic, who wouldn't? But we want to keep him and, if he went, we would have to buy a Rooney or Tevez to replace him.

"If we can keep Nicolas, we can be going for Europe again and perhaps even for the Champions League.

"He has a lot to say and has a big influence in the dressing room. He's part of our committee and makes sure our feelings are heard."
