Liverpool have reportedly made an official transfer offer for the services of Southampton's inspirational captain Adam Lallana, according to Liverpool Echo.

  • Felix Nmecha linked with Chelsea move
  • The talented Saints star has been in top form for the club since the turn of the year, and his excellent performances were rewarded with a place in the England World Cup squad on Monday.

The 26-year-old has been constantly linked with a summer switch to the Reds, and Liverpool Echo claims that the Merseysiders have made a formal bid of around £20m for the player's services.

However, it is understood that the South Coast club are unwilling to accept any offers below the £25m mark for their skipper.

Lallana scored nine goals for the Saints this season, and was recently won the club's Player of the Season award.
