Liverpool make formal bid for Adam Lallana
Liverpool have reportedly made an official transfer offer for the services of Southampton's inspirational captain Adam Lallana, according to Liverpool Echo.
The talented Saints star has been in top form for the club since the turn of the year, and his excellent performances were rewarded with a place in the England World Cup squad on Monday.
The 26-year-old has been constantly linked with a summer switch to the Reds, and Liverpool Echo claims that the Merseysiders have made a formal bid of around £20m for the player's services.
However, it is understood that the South Coast club are unwilling to accept any offers below the £25m mark for their skipper.
Lallana scored nine goals for the Saints this season, and was recently won the club's Player of the Season award.
