Arsenal have reportedly activated a buy-back clause in Carlos Vela's contract, which would allow him to join the North London giants this summer.
Vela has been a revelation since he joined Sociedad on a permanent basis from the Gunners in 2012.
The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been impressed with the Mexican international's progress over the past few seasons, and reports in Spain suggest that the Frenchman has moved in to bring Vela to the Emirates for a bargain fee of just £3m in the upcoming transfer window.
The 25-year-old has notched up 20 goals and 13 assists in all competitions for Sociedad this season.
