Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho has announced that he will be staying at the club. Manchester United were amongst the teams linked with a move for the Portuguese international.
The arrival of Louis Van Gaal at Old Trafford will signal a new era at United and Carvalho had been seen an excellent long term signing for the club.
Despite that, United will make moves for other players instead of Carvalho.
"My future is set. I’ll return to Sporting Lisbon after the World Cup," said the midfielder. "I’m a Sporting player to 2018. Everything else is just speculation."
