Arsenal will move to sign Colombian international shot stopper David Ospina as a replacement for Lukasz Fabianski, who last week joined Swansea City. The Gunners are expected to spend as much as £80 million on new players during the transfer window.
The Nice goalkeeper had an excellent season last campaign and has been watched regularly by scouts of the Gunners, in particular Arsenal's head scout in France, Gilles Grimandi. Ospina has played for Nice for six seasons and has over 40 caps for his country, so would add much needed experience to Arsenal's goalkeeping ranks.
Whilst Arsenal have been repeatedly linked with a move for Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall, the reported £15 million price has chased off the Gunners. With Ospina out of contract at the French club, the notoriously parsimonious Arsene Wenger will be happy to land a new keeper for free.
