Tottenham are to make a bid for their former centre back Steven Caulker and are confident that Cardiff City will sell for the same £10 million fee that the Welsh club paid last season to sign the burly defender.
Newly appointed Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has identified four players that he thinks would improve his current squad and Caulker is one of the names on that list.
With the Welsh club a reported £150 million in debt and facing a financial crisis, the club are now set to part with arguably their best player.
Spurs will make an official bid for the player next week and a deal could be wrapped up before the beginning of July.
