Joachim Low worried by Mesut Ozils form

Joachim Low worried by Mesut Ozil's form

02 June 2014 - 09:24

Germany manager Joachim Low has revealed his concerns over the form of star midfielder Mesut Ozil ahead of the World finals in Brazil later this month.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The Arsenal star struggled to make any fruitful impact during Germany's 2-2 draw against Cameroon on Sunday evening.

However, Low has now admitted that the former Real Madrid playmaker will hopefully regain his form before the major event gets underway in Brazil on June 12.

"Mesut Ozil has not had his best day," the 54-year-old said. "He needs two more weeks, then we'll see a strong Mesut at the World Cup.

"With us, one has noticed that the freshness is missing. Our passing game was not good and we made many, many mistakes.

"If we had taken the lead, it would have helped the team. It pervades through the last few years that we need many opportunities [to score]."

Germany face-off against Portugal in their opening fixture in Group G.
