Sunderland to bid for Leroy Fer?

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has reportedly made an enquiry to Norwich City regarding the availability of Dutch midfielder Leroy Fer.

Fer could not help Norwich maintain their top flight status as the Canaries were relegated last season, and now Leroy Fer is seeking a transfer elsewhere.

The former FC Twente midfielder has also been linked with a return to the Netherlands, with Ajax Amsterdam believed to have shown some interest.

Fer could be available for around 5 million euros.
