Arsenal and Real Sociedad have opened talks over a move for Carlos Vela. The Mexican forward could join the Gunners for 4 million Euros this summer as Arsenal have first option on a move for the player.

Despite the Premier League side having an option to sign Vela, Sociedad are desperate to keep hold of the forward. Meanwhile, striker Vela is happy to wait and see what happens between the discussions of the two clubs before deciding his long term future. Vela is understood to have told his agent that his previous Arsenal spell left a bitter taste and would prefer to stay in Spain, but Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger maintains that he is able to persuade Carlos Vela to return to the Emirates.
