Liverpool are reportedly closing in on the signing of Bayern Munich midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri, according to a report.
The talented Swiss international has been long linked with a switch away from the Bavarian giants, and his performances at the World Cup finals have attracted interest from a host of clubs in recent weeks.
According to The Express, the 23-year-old, who scored a hat-trick against Honduras at Manaus, is considered as a top transfer target for Liverpool this summer. In addition to this, the Merseyside giants are ready to finally make a formal offer to secure his signature.
Shaqiri joined Bayern Munich from Swiss outfit FC Basel in the summer of 2012.
