Chelsea want Llorente

02 December 2007 - 21:31

Fernando Llorente is wanted by Chelsea as a potential replacement for Andriy Shevchenko in the January transfer window. The Ahletic Bilbao striker, aged 22, is highly rated in La Liga.

  • Man Utd handed major injury boost for Liverpool game
  • Chelsea set asking price for Nicolas Jackson
  • Last season Llorente played as fourth choice striker behind Aduriz, Joseba Etxeberría and the veteran Ismael Urzaiz at Bilbao, but this season has seen more regular action in the first team.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are also known to be long term admirers of the Basque striker, and it is believed he has a buy-out clause of around £12 million.

The 6 foot 4 striker has attracted the attention of Frank Arnesen and Avram Grant, who are certain to add a striker to their squad in January.
