Liverpool have successfully completed the signing of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can for a reported fee worth £10m.

  • The Reds manager Brendan Rodgers has been keen on strengthening his side in all departments, as the club face the Europe's elite in the Champions League during the next campaign.

    Having already signed Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana from Southampton this summer, the Merseysiders were understood to be closing on a deal for the talented German under-21 international.

    Can, 20, revealed his delight at joining the Reds, and is keen on playing his first game at Anfield.

    "I am proud to be a part of the family and I am looking forward to playing here," Can told the club's official website. "LFC is a great club and the fans are amongst the best in the world. I am looking forward to the first game and can't wait to step on the pitch for the first time at Anfield."
