Nemanja Vidic unveiled as Inter Milan player

Nemanja Vidic was unveiled as Inter Milan player on Friday and his contract will run until 2017. He joined InterĀ as a free agent and is ready to help Inter to return to winning ways in the Italian league as well as in Europe.

  • The former Manchester United captain said at the unveiling that he should have joined Serie A a long time ago as Italian football suits his style of play.

    The Serbian defender said, "Inter is one of the top clubs in the world, with a great history and tradition. There was a new project in place and I immediately liked it."

    He joined Manchester United from Spartak Moscow in January 2006 and stayed with the Red Devils for eight years before finally making a move to Italy.

    He won five Premier League titles including three consecutively, one Champions League title and a Club World Cup title as a player with Manchester United.

    Inter finished fifth in Serie A and will compete in next season's Europa League.
