Vidic unveiled to the media as Inter player

Nemanja Vidic was unveiled as Inter Milan player on Friday and his contract will run until 2017. He joined Inter as a free agent and is ready to help Inter to return to winning ways in the Italian league as well as in Europe.

The former Manchester United captain said at the unveiling that he should have joined Serie A a long time ago as Italian football suits his style of play.

The Serbian defender said, "Inter is one of the top clubs in the world, with a great history and tradition. There was a new project in place and I immediately liked it."

He joined Manchester United from Spartak Moscow in January 2006 and stayed with the Red Devils for eight years before finally making a move to Italy.

He won five Premier League titles including three consecutively, one Champions League title and a Club World Cup title as a player with Manchester United.

Inter finished fifth in Serie A and will compete in next season's Europa League.
