Both Arsenal and Southampton are in the race to sign defender Pablo Armero. The 27-year-old played last season on loan at West Ham.

Armero has impressed for Colombia during the World Cup and numerous teams are said to have been impressed with his performances and are now considering a transfer move. The full back, who is currently owned by Napoli, has caught the eye of Southampton manager Ronald Koeman as well as Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Armero is said to be desperate for a return to the Premier League and will stop at nothing to push through a transfer before the start of the coming season.
