Wenger warns title rivals

Wenger warns title rivals

02 December 2007 - 22:05

Arsene Wenger has warned his title rivals that if Arsenal continue to play the form shown against Aston Villa on Saturday, other sides will struggle to keep up with their steamroll towards the Premiership title.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • "We showed the two sides of our game. We were brilliant and resilient. When we play football like we did in the first half, no one can live with us. It was a classy display," said Wenger.

"At times we were absolutely amazing. The speed at which we moved the ball in small spaces and our quality was superb. We played the ball through needles and it was very difficult for Aston Villa.

"In the second half we tired because of the commitment that Villa showed and the fact that we were tired from the Champions League game, but that was the kind of game we may have lost last season. We have more resilience, experience and we do not panic as much now."
