Stoke City are believed to have contacted FC Ingolstadt regarding a loan move for Australia international forward Mathew Leckie. The 23-year-old has spent the last 3 years in Germany, playing for Monchengladbach and FSV Frankfurt.
During the World Cup, Leckie seemed to impress some Stoke City watching scouts and Mark Hughes' side have contacted the German club Ingolstadt to find out more about Leckie's loan availability.
Having been capped 11 times by his country, acquiring a work permit to play in England should be no problem. After his excellent displays in Brazil, numerous teams have expressed interest in the player including Italian side Genoa and French teams Rennes and Marseille.
