Algerian star Slimani to Crystal Palace?

06 July 2014 - 08:10

Crystal Palace has reportedly bid for Algerian striker Islam Slimani for £10 million.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • Slimani who plays for Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon, had an impressive World Cup campaign with Algeria narrowly missing out to reach the quarterfinals, losing to Germany in their Round of 16 clash.

Slimani hit crucial goals against South Korea and Russia with the 'Desert Foxes' reaching the Round of 16 stage for the first time in World Cup history.

Slimani has spent a year with the Portuguese club and scored eight goals in his debut campaign and Lisbon will be willing to let him go if a suitable bid attracts them as they are not financially well-off.

He just might be the right buy for Crystal Palace who hopefully turn things around for them and buying him at £10 million is even more impressive.

In 2013, Islam Slimani was considered the best Algerian footballer of the year as he won the Algerian golden ball.
