German champions Bayern Munich are reportedly eyeing a move for Mehdi Benatia as Manchester City have stalled on a transfer. They have decided to move for French defender Eliaquim Mangala instead.
Bayern Munich have been on the lookout for a new defender and were linked with a move for David Luiz before the Brazilian agreed a deal with French giants PSG for £50 million.
Pep Guardiola has reportedly decided a move for Benatia and is willing to meet the club's £30m valuation.
Benatia has previously been targeted by Premier League clubs Manchester United, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.
Benatia's current club Roma has wrapped up a deal for former Chelsea player Ashley Cole last week.
City will only be able to buy one defender this summer due to the spending cap imposed by UEFA for breaching the Financial Fair Play rules last season and so appear to have decided to buy Mangala.
