The agent of Belgium international defender and Jan Vertonghen has admitted that his client is likely to quit Tottenham this summer. The centre back has attracted the interest of Barcelona, with talk of a 20 million euro transfer bid.
Mustapha Nakhli told reporters yesterday: “Several teams are interested in Jan. I cannot confirm or deny whether Barcelona are one of them. Tottenham is not a small club. It’s too soon to give them an answer. Several clubs have registered their interest in Jan. We’ll see.”
Tottenham are desperate to keep hold of their star defender, but it appears that Vertonghen is seeking a move.
