Toni Kroos-es to Madrid for a six-year deal

Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos has reportedly completed his £23.5m transfer from Bayern Munich to Real Madrid on a 6-year contract.

  • Kroos' contract with Bayern had only a year left to run on it and he had turned down their offer of a renewal.

Kroos was also named on the 10-man shortlist for FIFA's Golden Ball award for the tournament's best player.

The 24-year-old was also reportedly a target of Premier League clubs Manchester United and Chelsea this summer, but Los Blancos have won the race to sign him.

The midfielder shone in the World Cup win for Germany.

The European champions are looking to add to their ranks as they try to keep pace with big-spending Barcelona, who recently signed Luis Suarez and a possible replacement for rumouredly outgoing Argentine Angel Di Maria.

For a relatively young player, Kroos boasts considerable experience, having already won major trophies including the World Cup, Champions League, Bundesliga and Club World Cup.

A deal will be announced next week.
