Cardiff City to sign Keane?

Michael Keane to Cardiff City?

21 July 2014 - 13:55

Cardiff City are keen on signing Manchester United defender Michael Keane, as reported by the Derby Telegraph.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to add the defender to his ranks, as it looks highly likely that captain Steven Caulker will move to QPR this summer.

Solskjaer has managed the youngster during his days in charge of the Manchester United reserves. The 21-year old spent the second half of last season on loan at Derby County as they missed out on promotion after losing the Play-Off final.

The 21-year-old centre-back has had loan spells at Leicester City, Derby County and Blackburn Rovers.

The report adds that Blackburn, where Keane has also had a loan spell, are also interested in adding Keane to their squad for a second time. Although Cardiff will hope that Solskjaer’s past relationship with Keane will swing the deal in Cardiff’s favour.

He is currently on the Red Devils' tour of the United States and nothing is likely to develop until Louis van Gaal's men return to England.
